The 2022 vintage benefited from optimal conditions, including the absence of disease pressure and a prolonged, cool ripening period, resulting in fruit with exceptional concentration and freshness. The grapes were hand-harvested and meticulously sorted. We employed predominantly cool fermentation techniques to preserve the delicate aromas of the 777 clone from the original 2008 vineyard, as well as from the high-density sections of 667, Abel, and 115 clones.
The production process included 90% destemming and utilized 7% new oak from François Frère. Each clone was fermented and matured separately in open-top stainless steel fermenters. The wine is all about its elegance and seductive aromas, complemented by a subtle power. Ready to drink straight away but will age well over the next 5+ years.

Wine Simple

The dreaded “second album syndrome”, also often referred to as the sophomore slump, is a common trend whereby an artist launches to fame and with a stellar debut album and the immense pressure for the second album.
So can they produce another brilliant pinot?
[In context, their last Pinot won my 22’ Discovery of the Year and that immense pressure for a ‘second album’ is totally created by me as I clearly loved the last vintage and didn’t buy enough as it is now sold out] I started with the Estate Pinot. Within seconds I can confirm there has been no ‘second album’ syndrome and this is a hit.
The Estate Pinot from Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills is as good as the last vintage. Everything I loved from last vintage is present yet it is not just a copy, it presents itself in a slightly different, more refined and rounder finish, maybe less raw, yet the foundation of why I loved this wine is centre-stage. No question, this is a must buy and will ‘rocket up the charts’ or as #mollymeldrum would say “do yourself a favour”.
After a couple of glasses I’m wondering if Harry joining his Dad maybe like when Stevie Nicks joining Fleetwood Mac.
Actually, I’ll add when Dave Grohl joined Nirvana…simple…
Australian Wine & Drinks Review
94 Points
Sourced off both the top and the bottom blocks on the vineyard, with 10% whole bunches. Spends 11 months in French oak. Another winner too. Shares the tomato leaf and raspberry of its fancier brethren but it’s also more molten and plummy and ripe. Such a substantial Pinot, again. Light coloured but powerful. Raspberry and tomato juice, a big personality. Full, tannic, big. Not the bombastic perfection of the top wine in its volume (it’s a bit more round), but what a mouthful of convincing Pinosity.
The RealReview Reviews
“Bright medium-full red-purple colour with a fresh, brilliant red cherry to raspberry aroma, the palate light-bodied and finely grained, delicious fruit, easy drinking and neatly balanced.”
